LR-16 was a heavy stationary cannon battery that was used by Galactic Republic military during the Cold War. It had circular base 29.35m in diameter and it was visually identical to its smaller version, but was four times larger.
The battery consisted of a primary cannon with variable beam settings for different targets and two additional AA turbolasers to defend the battery againist aircrafts. The effective fire range of fire of the main cannon was 27 km, and two side-mounted additional turbolasers could hit targets at a distance of 8 km. The standard munition for the battery was a superheated plasma. Depending on the beam settings, one to four crew members were required to operate the battery efficiently.
